## We are delighted to have you stay with us. Please review this Château du Puy Visitor Essential Information to ensure a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable stay.

## General Considerations

Treat the suite with **care, cleanliness, and respect**.

Avoid damage to furniture, fixtures, and appliances.

Be mindful of noise levels, especially at night.

Recycle and dispose of garbage properly.

## Garbage Disposal

Bring your **plastic garbage bags to the container on the esplanade outside.**

Use the **badge on your keyring to open the container**.

**Plastic packaging can be disposed of in the yellow container.**

**Do not leave bags next to the container** (police surveillance cameras are in place).

## Terrace and Awning

Please use the awning (sunshade) with great care. We have already experienced several cases of costly damage.

Although it retracts automatically in strong winds, sudden and violent gusts can still occur. **Never leave the awning open when you are not present.**

Usable **early morning and late afternoon** when winds are usually calmer.

Do not force the awning manually.

## Access and Keys

Always **close doors behind you**.

			 You will receive **2 identical sets of 3 keys**. Each set includes: a **green key**, an **orange key**, and a **metal (uncoloured) key**.
- **Green key** – Opens the main entrance door downstairs (Eastern Tower)
- **Metal (uncoloured) key** – Opens your apartment door (the same key is used for all three locks)
- **Orange key** – Opens all common areas of the château (e.g. swimming pool, small parking, etc.)
Please keep your keys with you at all times.		

## Security

- Always **close all common doors** of the château after use.
- Ensure the **main entrance door on the ground floor (green key) is always securely closed** when entering or exiting.
- **This simple rule has kept burglars out for over 60 years.**

## How to Use the French Doors (Terrace & Main Entrance)

			These are **European-style doors**. The handle must sometimes be lifted slightly to engage the lock.

**Handle positions:**

- 🚪 **Horizontal (right)** = Open normally
- 🌬️ Up = Tilt (ventilation)
- 🔒 **Down** = Closed position

### ⚠️ Important:

- Do not force the handle
- If it doesn’t move, the door is not fully closed
- Always lock the door when leaving

👉 Key point for US guests: **“Lift the handle first, then turn the key to lock.”**

### To OPEN the door:

1. If locked, use the key first
2. Turn the handle **to the right (horizontal)**
3. Pull the door towards you

### To CLOSE & LOCK:

1. Close the door firmly
2. **Lift the handle slightly upward** (this engages the locking mechanism)
3. Turn the key to lock
4. Return the handle **down**

## Emergency numbers

Turn off wifi before dialing some emergency numbers – Some emergency numbers (like 15, 17, and 18) do not work when you’re connected to Wi-Fi or using Wi-Fi calling apps.

112 is the best option and works from any phone – but to be safe, turn off Wi-Fi first so your call goes through the mobile network.

## Thunderstorms

Thunderstorms can be **sudden and violent**, especially in the Tower.

**Always close and secure all windows when you leave**, even in good weather.

## Air Conditioning and Heating

There are **4 air conditioning units in the Tower Suites**:

- **All units must be on the same mode**: Cooling icon in summer, Heating in winter.
- **If one unit is set differently, all units will stop working.**

**Do not open windows while using air conditioning.**

Please turn off units when not needed to **save energy and protect the environment**.

## Television

	The television in your suite is a **Samsung “The Frame” TV**. When not in use, it may display artwork, but it functions as a fully equipped smart TV.

- The TV includes **Samsung TV Plus**, offering a selection of **free channels** (news, entertainment, lifestyle, etc.) available without any subscription.
- For a much wider range of content, the TV is equipped with an **Amazon Fire TV Stick**.  
  This device gives access to **many more apps and services**, including live TV, movies, and streaming platforms, all in one place via a simple interface.
- This setup is part of a **private installation**.  
  ******We kindly ask you not to modify any settings, accounts, or applications.**

## Channels & Entertainment

- Through the Fire Stick, you have access to a **premium IPTV service**, offering **thousands of channels worldwide**, including a large selection from the **USA**, Europe, and beyond.
- You can also enjoy a wide library of **movies and series on demand**.
- We use an application called **TiviMate** to access this content. It organises live TV and on-demand content in a simple interface.
- As IPTV relies on internet streaming, **TiviMate may occasionally not work perfectly** (e.g. buffering or channels not loading). This is due to provider or network issues and is beyond our control.
- You can also use the TV or Fire Stick to access apps such as Netflix or YouTube (with your own account).
